Bertha Towle
Not much is known about Bertha, the oldest of the children of John Herbert Towle and Catherine nee Fennelly. She was born in 1892.
Bertha was frail most of her life and is believed to have died of leukemia in the "Coast Hospital" on the northern shore of Sydney Harbour.
It is known that she worked doing domestic duties such as Nanny and cleaning.
No records have been found referring to any husband however she signed as a witness to her sister, Hazel's, wedding using the name Bertha La Veirge. this seems to indicate she may have been married to a French national.
In her youth, she lived with her parents in "The Rocks" area of Sydney Harbour where her brother Thomas Herbert Carlyle became a sailor and he married a sailor's daughter. It is possible Bertha may, also, have married a sailor. What became of him or if there are any children of the relationship is not known.
Thomas Herbert Carlyle Towle
Thomas Herbert Carlyle Towle, only son of John Herbert Towle and Catherine Fennelly, married Christina Charlotta Johanna nee Johanson, daughter of August Edward Johanson and Sarah nee Kelly in about 1918.
Thomas worked as a ferryman on Sydney Harbour and Christina was a tailoress and had performed as a dancer in the famous Tivoli Theatre, Sydney.

Thomas and Christina ( known by the Swedish Krestina) had two sons Thomas Augustus Towle b. July 1, 1920 and Jack Edward Towle b. March 9, 1923

Thomas Augustus married Gloria Cecelia Isobel nee Olsen, in about 1943 at Port Augusta in the state of South Australia. Thomas was on war service at that time. Eventually divorced they remarried in 1990

Hazeldene Towle
Second daughter of John Herbert Towle and Catherine Fennelly, Hazeldene Lillian Towle, b. about 1897, a tailoress, married John Thomas Anderson, an iron moulder, on October 7, 1920.
John's parents were Henry Melville Anderson and Henrietta Durbridge.
Hazeldene died in the District Hospital, Parkes, NSW, on February 18, 1965, of Ia Chalangitis and Ia Days and is buried in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Parkes.

This grandson of John Herbert Towle, Jack Henry Melville Anderson b. December 11, 1920, married Alma Joan nee Price, b. 03-12-1923, by the Church of England, Parkes NSW, on December 30, 1944.
Jack's parents were Hazeldene nee Towle and John Thomas Anderson.
Alma's parents were Alfred Joseph Price and Frances Ethel nee Townsend.

Geoff Anderson is an elder of the
Wiradjuri Aborignal Tribe and teaches the tribal language.
Geoff, is working in the
NSW town of
Parkes with local schools, including Parkes East Public School and Parkes High School to teach the
Wiradjuri language to children. He also teaches adults.

Millicent Towle
Third daughter of John Herbert Towle and Catherine Fennelly, Millicent Towle, Milliner, b. 1899 (1900?), married William Raymond Ryan Presser, b. 1893 at St Marys; Church, Erskinville in Sydney, NSW, Australia on April 28, 1923.
Millicent died May 8, 1964 at Rossmoyne Private Hospital, Padstow, Sydney, NSW, Australia after suffering from Cerebral Haemorrhage and Arteriosclerosis. She is buried at the Roman Catholic Lawn Cemetry, Woronora. NSW.
Child and grand children of Millicent Ryan nee TowleBill and Millicent Ryan, nee Towle, had one child, Fay Catherine Ryan b.November 1, 1936 who married Denis John Caldwell St Jospehs Church, Rockdale, NSW, on May 28, 1958.
Denis and Fay had two surviving children, Vicki Ann Caldwell b. 1959 and Brett William Caldwell b. 1963.
